PRESS RELEASE: 12 February 2020
Brush Up Your Ute and Dog for the First-ever GWD Toyota Hokonui Ute Muster
Grab your ute and dog and head along with your mates to the first-ever GWD Toyota Hokonui Ute Muster at the Tussock Country Music Festival in Gore in May.

“Traditionally pick-up trucks and country music go together. This event is styled on the ute muster tradition in rural Australia and the United States. It’s a great chance to show off your ute and your dog, and enjoy good times with your mates,” says Tussock Country Music Festival chair Jeff Rea.

There’s a whole load of prizes to be won in 12 different categories including best turned out double cab, best dog in a ute, best classic ute, best trade ute and even best mullet. GWD Toyota is the major sponsor of this new, rousing event. “We are delighted to have GWD Toyota embracing this event,” says Tussock Country Music Festival chair Jeff Rea.

The Hokonui Ute Muster will kick off with a ute parade through Gore at 1pm on 23 May, before all utes join the muster at the Gore A & P Showground. Here there’ll be entertainment and food and drink available for purchase over the afternoon while judging takes place.
The public can come on down and view the utes between 2-4pm and category winners will be announced later in the afternoon.

“This is a great opportunity for country lads and gals to get together and celebrate some of the good stuff about rural living – trucks, dogs and sharing good times,” says Jeff.
