CAPITAL OF COUNTRY MUSIC - DOCUMENTARY SCREENINGS

The St James Theatre is proud to host screenings of Capital of Country Music; a documentary that chronicles five decades of the Gore Country Music Club's journey including the evolution of the NZ Gold Guitar Awards and the ongoing legacy being carried forward by the next generation of country music lovers.

Directed by Gore’s own Jenny Mitchell and Dunedin filmmakers Wade McClelland and Bradon McCaughey, Capital of Country Music tells an emotive musical story about the power of volunteering and community spirit.

​

Starring country music legends such as Lynda Topp along with countless Southlanders including Max and Coral McCauley, Kayla Mahon, Peter Cairns and Erica Byars, this is a must-see of the 2026 festival.
