Tussock Country attracts over 10,000 visitors from around New Zealand with more than 50 events, over 10 days at 13 different venues, there is plenty to entertain both locals and visitors alike.
In 2021, volunteers contributed over 100,000 hours to the country music celebrations in Gore - and their contribution in 2022 is expected to be even more.
Volunteers will play an important role in the operations and delivery of Tussock Country, from voluntary roles such as stage runners, ambassadors, VIP hosts, shuttle drivers, door sales, social media champions and photographers to name just a few. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team and learn new skills at a major NZ event. We will need over 50 volunteers to make this event successful. Once we've received your application we'll be back in touch with you via email with your allocated shift times - these will be confirmed in May 2022.
All volunteers are required to attend a Tussock Country Volunteer Briefing in central Gore in the lead-up to the event. Numerous identical briefings will be held to suit volunteer availability. Briefing dates and times to be confirmed via email.
You will collect your Volunteer Kit (name badge, vest, info pack, event reporting information) at this briefing, along with vital event and health and safety information, so attendance is mandatory.
Please prepare your Tussock Country volunteer outfit! We recommend multiple warm layers, with black clothing preferred. Sensible footwear and winter woolies also recommended. A high viz vest will be provided to wear over your clothing - to be returned at the end of your shift.
